Cats are often seen as selfish creatures who care about little else besides themselves. But if that idea hasn't already been disproven enough times, the kitty in the video below certainly proves just how heroic cats can be when needed.
This story challenges multiple stereotypes about cats. For one, this black cat shows that superstitions about the color of cats have no basis in reality. She's neither a servant of the devil, a witch, nor a harbinger of bad luck—in fact, quite the opposite. This kitty brought nothing but good fortune.
It also debunks the myth that cats and dogs are mortal enemies who naturally can’t stand each other. While it’s true that some dog breeds may not be ideal companions for cats, with proper introduction, most household pets can learn to tolerate, or even grow fond of each other. In the video, a small white dog is let out for its evening bathroom break when suddenly, a pack of coyotes attacks. The poor pup doesn’t stand much chance, especially since even a single predator is several times its size—let alone two or more.
Luckily, the household’s heroic cat rushed in and charged at the coyotes, successfully scaring them off and saving the dog’s life.
Who knows what might have happened if that brave kitty hadn’t been nearby to defend her friend. The dog did have to undergo surgery on its leg, but it recovered and is doing well now. As for the cat—she came out of the scuffle without a scratch and still guards the territory to this day.
It was so inspiring to see our little outdoor cat just leap at the two coyotes who attacked the puppy she loves so much,
– said the owner in an interview with the news outlet.
