The following story is a bit different from what you’re used to on the We love Catz page, but it’s at least as educational as it is hilarious, so we just had to share it with you.
Here comes the tale of a cat whose routine was disrupted and who, unfortunately, was left alone with a robot vacuum in good faith.

A dear friend of the family had to spend some time in the hospital. To make sure her cat was safe and cared for, her parents and friends came every day to feed it, and the kitty even got a self-cleaning litter box so it wouldn’t miss out on anything. Everything was carefully planned. The only thing they hadn’t accounted for was how deeply it would affect the cat to be without its owner for such a long stretch for the first time in its life.
That’s how it happened that the otherwise perfectly house-trained pet decided to vent its stress from the changes by leaving a little „landmine" outside the litter box. We can’t blame it for a second – we’re sure those few days were very hard on her. Normally this small mishap wouldn’t have been a big deal anyway, because someone came every day to care for and cuddle the cat. The tragedy – and we think you’ll agree with calling it that – only began to take shape when the diligent robot vacuum sprang into action.
You can probably already picture it: the device buzzing back and forth through runny cat poop, splattering the entire living room. Yes, the furniture, the walls – everything. The sight resembled a medieval battlefield, and we’re pretty sure the smell wasn’t much better.

First of all, don’t blame yourself. Even when you think you’ve thought of everything – and more – mistakes can still slip into the system… quite literally in this case.
Once you get past the initial shock, if you’re a robot vacuum user yourself, consider whether to leave the machine running while you’re away. Even the most well-trained, cleanest cats can get upset by something, or develop diarrhea and not make it to the litter box.
As tempting as it is to come home to spotless floors, it might actually be more practical to let the vacuum do its work when you’re there. And while this story may sound extreme and you might be thinking, “That would never happen to me,” that just means you haven’t yet had to scrub cat poop off your walls and upholstery.
